The Royal Western India Turf Club Limited (RWITC) is one of the oldest and most well-known horse racing clubs in the country. The club hosts a total of approximately 70 race days in a year through two seasons of horse racing – The Mumbai Season from November to April at the Mahalaxmi Race Course and the Pune Season from July to October at 6, Arjun Marg, Pune.
Originally built under the direction and supervision of Major JE Hughes around 1883, the 2400-metre oval-shaped Mahalaxmi race track is rated one of the best in Asia. The spectacular Mahalaxmi Grand Stands have also recently been accorded the Heritage status. The 225-acre Mahalaxmi campus houses the Club House as well as 3 prestigious restaurants.
The month of December brings to you three classic and exciting races to look forward to as mentioned below:-
